On Thanksgiving morning we all got up early and headed out to the Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot for a 3 mile stroll around downtown Dallas (along with about 40,000 other people!). This is our second year spending Thanksgiving in Dallas and our second Turkey Trot. It was great to get out and get some excercise before gobbling down all that yummy Thanksgiving turkey (we enjoyed Greenberg smoked turkey at our Thanksgiving table again this year - which I highly recommend).
Here we are, waiting for the race to start (we're in the back in the "dogs and strollers" area).
And we're off! There were so many people it took about 20 minutes for us just to get to the starting line.
Maddie and grandma started off strong (Maddie was anxious to "trot"...she practiced all week).
About 30 minutes in Maddie was still going strong...and then...
....things took a turn...
...and she ended up on Mike's shoulders. Fortunately we had the umbrella stroller with us for just such a scenario!
This was the extent of Grant's participation.
