Christmas Morning

The first thing Madeline did when she woke up was check to see if Santa and Rudolph ate the cookies, milk, and carrots we left out. Of course, Santa had nibbled on the cookies and Rudolph ate most of the carrots. Then we got down to business opening the gifts that Santa left. Maddie opened Grant's gifts for him, which was very cute because she would tear open his presents and then bring them over to him and say "see - this is for you". Santa brought Maddie an infant carrier/car seat for her dollies (which Maddie had been asking for for months) and brought Grant an activity table (that is still in the box since Grant isn't really big enough to play with it yet). Mommy and daddy gave Maddie and Grant a swing to hang from the tree in the front yard (daddy promises he will install it next weekend). But when all was said and done Maddie was having the most fun popping bubble wrap from one of the gifts!
We had also been talking a lot about sending Santa a thank you note for the gifts and last night Maddie reminded us so we got out a card for her to color. She even put it in an envelope (kind of), "addressed" it and stuck a stamp on it. I took it to work with me today to mail and the first thing Maddie asked when I got home was if I mailed Santa's thank you note. She is so sweet. Here are a few Christmas morning pics...

Opening stockings with Dad.

Grant's Christmas jammies...reindeer bottom!

Maddie and her Tinkerbell umbrella from Santa. She got to use it for the first time today since it was raining out and she was SOOO excited.
