Everytime we are at the neighborhood park Mike and I are always telling Maddie to be careful around the edges of the play equipment (it is, afterall, like 20 feet off the ground) - and especially around the pole that you slide down. We would always go running over to stand there so she wouldn't fall off the edge or to hold her as she slid down. About a month ago Mike was picking Maddie up from MDO and lo and behold, the kid is sliding down the pole on the school playground (unsupervised and alone - gasp!) and then running up the stairs and doing it again ... and again ... and again. Now we know why she was always looking at us like crazy people when we would come running to help her slide down the pole at the park! Ha! ("Unsupervised and alone" does not mean there was no one watching her on the playground at school - just that there was no one helping her down the pole).
